If purity wins the race,
then it´s noble gases from Westfalen
Noble gases are the invisible drivers of modern technologies. No matter whether you need xenon, krypton or neon, we supply you with noble gases of the highest purity and quality – perfect for industry, research and your special high-tech applications.
Noble gases are among the rarest gases in our environment. They only occur in minimal quantities and are therefore particularly sought-after. In the periodic table, they form an exclusive group of seven elements: helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon and the radioactive substances radon and oganesson.
The best known of these – helium, neon, argon, krypton and xenon – are colourless and odourless. If they are provided as high-purity noble gases with a purity of 99.999% or higher, they hardly react with other substances due to their chemical inertness. This stability makes them indispensable for applications in industry, research and technology where particular reliability and precision are required.
Noble gases are mainly produced by air separation – with the exception of helium and the radioactive elements. In the tried and tested Linde process, a process for separating oxygen and nitrogen, the noble gases krypton, xenon and neon accumulate at specific points in the rectification column and are obtained as by-products.
Find out more about the possible applications of the noble gases xenon, krypton and neon here. Thanks to their versatile applications in industry and research, these rare gases are highly sought-after, especially when it comes to quality and purity.
While xenon produces a light that is white, particularly intense and ideal for cinema projectors, car headlights and strobe lights, krypton increases the brightness and efficiency of light bulbs and fluorescent tubes. Neon is mainly used in advertising and impresses with colourful luminous signs that attract attention everywhere.
Noble gases also drive electronics production: xenon, neon and krypton are indispensable for the production of semiconductors, which are used in computer and communication electronics as well as automotive electronics and solar technology. Neon, for example, is used in the photolithography process to etch complex patterns onto silicon wafers, which is an essential step in the production of microchips.

All details about the noble gases xenon, krypton and neon and all other gases and gas mixtures as well as our delivery forms can be found in our online shop.
Neon has revolutionised the world of illuminated advertising. Its characteristic red glow is produced when the noble gas is energised in a tube. This eye-catching light has made neon the first choice for advertising signs that are clearly visible even in difficult lighting conditions.
Space travel utilises xenon for ion propulsion in satellites and spacecrafts. As only small quantities are consumed at maximum efficiency, the noble gas fuel enables long-term missions into the depths of space.
Its low thermal conductivity and high density make the filling gas krypton ideal for window insulation. It provides excellent thermal insulation and therefore makes a decisive contribution to the energy efficiency of modern buildings.
The classic helium-neon laser has become an integral part of science and technology. It is used in laser imagesetters and for calibrating spectrometers, among other things, where maximum precision is required.
