Westfalen Medical GmbH awarded inclusion prize by the state of Saarland

“We are delighted about this recognition and that our long-standing employee Darko Sklezur has been able to remain with us as a colleague despite his disability,” said Westfalen Medical's authorized representative Michael Völlmer. 

The Inclusion Award is presented each year to companies that promote inclusion in the workplace. Darko Sklezur and Michael Völlmer accepted the award from State Secretary Bettina Altesleben at a ceremony.

Rethinking together

“As a sales representative, Darko Sklezur was one of our best employees. When he suddenly developed a visual impairment, it became clear that we all had to rethink things together. At our respiratory therapy center in Bexbach, he now does a great job as a consultant for our patients with respiratory diseases, drawing on his extensive professional and personal expertise,” explains Medical Managing Director Siegfried Hupas.

“A lot has changed. But I'm glad that I can continue to do what I'm good at, together with colleagues I've known for so long,” says Darko Sklezur.
